Staying with the issue of safety of women in India, a company called CanvasM has launched a app called "FightBack" for alerting the near and dear ones in case of danger.
Last week has been a brutal reminder of the world we live in and the day to day dangers faced by the females in India. With the protests going on and little or no action taking place, it is up to us to protect our self. So here comes a app which can be run on Android, Blackberry and Symbian OS is Free in Delhi NCR as of now and costs Rs.100.00 per annum but considering the horrendous activities taking place, it seems like it is value for money.
The application sits on your smartphone when you push a button, it tracks your location and send a 'SOS' signal to all concerned. In fact the company is working for integrating the system with the Delhi Police so a alert is recieved by them as well.
For non smart phone users the company will soon launch a similar SMS-based application to ensure that even those without smartphones are safe.
The company's website www.fightbackmobile.com provides you with instructions for installing the same.
I find this app useful not only for females but for the elderly families living secluded in the parts of the city.
Give it a try and post your comments, I have posted a similar App for Mumbaikar, Click Apps for Phones or type ICE : Mumbai Police in search box for the same
