Other then the 3D experience, Amazon's Fire 3D will a one stop portal for all  the Amazon services like shopping on Amazon e-store, e-books, buying and downloading/streaming music and video. Sceptics think that a smart phone with 3D technology is a few years away and Fire 3D is not going to make any impact in the existing smart phone configuration. However Amazon hope to do with Fire 3D what Apple managed to do with iPhone.

A quick peek at the specs

*  quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.2GHz processor
* Runs on  Android, Fire OS 3.5.0.

Amazon Fire also has a feature called 'Firefly' This feature uses the primary camera in Fire Phone to recognize images of products and individuals from films and television shows and then can show users relevant information like a Wikipedia page for the product or the Hollywood celebrity. It will also give a direct Amazon shopping link in case you like the product and intend to buy the product.

For example using the Firefly feature to take a image of Coco Cola will give you nutritional information for a bottle of soft drink.  Amazon has stated that Firefly can recognize easily recognise millions of people and products.

Fire also has a X-Ray feature that allows a user to access additional information in addition to the Firefly. The Amazon Fire will also support Amazon's premier products like, Amazon Prime Video and Prime Music.

United States buyers interested in buying Fire 3D can get it at a $649 contract-free price. From July 25, a 32-GB version will go for $199.99 with a contract on AT&T. Those prices are comparable to the iPhone 5C's, though it has superior displays and other features.
