Videomail servcie from Skype available now for Mac, iOS and Android users

Skype today released the latest update for Skype which allows Mac, iPhone and Android users to send  prerecorded messages to their friends and family, acting as a quick and useful video voicemail service.

The Microsoft owned Skype served a surprise volley for Windows users by not allowing them to use a similar service on their Windows PC.  Version 6.2.0.1117 of Skype for Mac adds a new “Send Video Message” option to the Conversations menu, automatically loading video screen, with a record button and options to cancel. Video Messages can be up to three minutes in length..  This service is free for 20 messages and then it is to be done via paid mode.

Regarding a similar feature for Windows Skype spokesperson told The Verge, "We’re pleased that there’s interest for Video Messaging to come to Skype for Windows and Skype for Windows 8. We’ll let you know when we expand the service to the platform.”

Further in the latest version of Skype on Mac, iOS and Android, the feature is in contact menus.  Please update your Skype in Mac, iOS and Android to avail this facility and send a memorial video clip to your loved ones.

I have written a article about a few good applications for Mac, please read them here. Please post your comments on this article.
