Sony Xperia T and V users, Jelly Bean firmware update has been released

Sony Xperia T (LT30p) users, Jelly Bean firmware update has been launched

Though I don't understand the language, the message seems clear.  Update for Sony Xperia T firmware has been rolled out.  This was reported today on Xperia Blog.  The Blog reports that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware update for Sony Xperia T users is finally here, adding that the development is here just a day after it reached the PTCRB site. The blog further  adds,

"The firmware is the same that was certified i.e. version number 9.1.A.0.489 and runs on the 3.4.0 kernel."

Shedding more information on the update, the post adds that the update is working for those in the Netherlands. Visit the blog and check out the details.

Comments are requested on the article.  Will keep you posted of future developments.

Added 5.2.2013

The Sony has released updates for Xperia V (LT25i) also.  As of now the updates are for Scandinavian countries, but hopefully all users may receive the update soon.

The new Jelly Bean update will let users smooth transition from Ice Cream Sandwich.  Some of the important features of the update are

1. With Jelly Bean, blind users can use 'Gesture Mode' to reliably navigate the UI using touch and swipe gestures in combination with speech output.
2. TalkBack, a screen reader for Android, now supports gestures to trigger actions, navigate applications, and traverse text.
3. Browser has improved performance, CPU, and memory efficiency. With better performance for animations and HTML 5 canvases and an updated JavaScript Engine (V8), pages load faster and feel smoother.
4. Browser now has better HTML 5 video support, and has a new user experience. Just touch the video to play and pause, and smoothly transition into and out of fullscreen mode.
5. Content in the Calendar fades in, animations are sprinkled throughout, and swiping/ paging between days is smoother.
6. You can now swipe from the camera viewfinder to quickly review photos you've taken without having to leave the camera app. 7. You can swipe back to the camera viewfinder to start snapping photos again.
8. When taking a photo, a new animation sweeps your photo off the screen. There is now a new paging animation when swiping between photos.
9. You can now enter text in one of 18 new input languages, including Persian, Hindi and Thai. Additional Indic languages Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam are now supported by the platform.
10. You can use custom keyboard input styles for more than 20 languages, with keymaps for Qwerty, Qwertz, Azerty, Dvorak, Colemak, and PC styles.
11. Notifications from the same application are grouped together, and the first item is automatically expanded. You can also pinch notifications to expand or collapse them.

  1. Clearly, basing on SAR ratings alone, the Xperia Z is a "healthier" phone
