Future smart phones to have front and back screens

Yes this is what our future phones will be like.  A Normal Screen in Front and a E-Ink display at back.

Future smart phones to have front and back screens

Though YotaPhone may not succeed in being a game changer but the idea sure looks workable.  The handset showcased by Yota runs on Android and has a Gorilla Glass 4.3 inch 720 x 1280 resolution LCD display on the front and a 200 dpi E-Ink display of 4.3 inch on the back.  The phone is powered by dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor with 2 GB RAM.  YotaPhone comes in 32 GB and 64 GB variants.  The phone also has 12 MP rear camera and 720p front camera.  The Phone also supports 4G (LTE).

However the real  beauty lies in the rear panel.  The E-Ink panel will have information displayed through open API which can allow apps to be run through this panel when required.  The Company showcased the use of rear panel by displaying playlist and ebooks in the rear panel.

On the battery front too the YotaPhone is superb with a 2100 mAh battery.  Though the company said it will release Yotaphone in Q3 of 2014, as long as it doesn't hit a cord with either HTC, Samsung, or Nokia it future remains bleak.

If Nokia were to pick this tech up it would be a real life support for the company as the company has already signalled its willingness to sell phones run on Android.  Lets hope YotaPhone sees the light of the day.
