'Do Not Disturb' disturbances with Apple's iOS 6

'Do Not Disturb' disturbances with Apple's iOS 6

Apple had launched its much hyped 'Do Not Disturb' with  an upgrade just a  month ago.  Users have been complaining about a bug which kept the feature active even after the schedule time sometimes even requiring a reboot.  Now Apple has officially acknowledged the existence of the bug.

The feature was advertised by Apple with much fanfare on the New years eve, but users had criticised it.  Watch the ad here

However Apple has now confirmed on its website the above said bug.  This is what the website says.

iOS 6: Do Not Disturb mode stays on after scheduled time

Products Affected

iPad, iPhone, iPod touch

Symptoms

After January 1st, 2013, Do Not Disturb mode stays on past its scheduled end time.

Resolution

Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
To turn off the scheduling feature, tap Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and switch Scheduled to Off.

This document will be updated as more information becomes available.

Hope the bug wears itself out on 7.1.2013, until then it is advisable to turn off the scheduling feature as per instructions given above,

So users of iPad, iPhone and iPod touch can only wait.  The Apple has gone ahead with issue of quick fixes for other bugs with the latest being this.
