The Royal Family gets bitten with the social networking bug, Duke of York shares the family snapshot on his Facebook page.
Finally Facebook was graced by the royal family of United Kingdom. Prince Andrew, who is the second eldest son, captured the snap of Her Majesty and the Earl and Countess of Wessex at Buckingham Palace on his mobile phone, which he then uploaded onto his official Facebook page.
The Duke who has always been a keen photographer took the family snapshot in one of the Queen's private rooms in the Palace ahead of a reception for charities supported by the Earl and Countess, who have both just turned 50.
The Duke captioned it: "A family photo before we join the guests at my brother and sister-in-law's joint 50th Birthday Reception at Buckingham Palace, to recognise the important work with their many organisations - AY"
The Queen looked elegant in a cream and flower patterned dress and jacket, accessorised with a pearl necklace, black shoes and handbag, Sophie wore a simple black dress with a diamante shoulder embellishment.
Prince Edward looked smart in a navy blue suit and a brown polka dot tie.
This is the first time Prince Andrew has met face-to-face with the Queen after he faced a string of allegations about sex with a teenage girl in the United States, which he has denied on various media networks.
Great to see so many organisations supported by The Earl & Countess of Wessex together at Buckingham Palace - AY http://t.co/sEXfCRyna7

Although the royal family has been posting selfies with having their very own Twitter feeds and Facebook pages, this is the first time a member of the Royal family has posted a family shot on Facebook.
