You are about to finish your schooling days and are preparing to step into the big world of college, or maybe someone you know, who is. Chances are, either or someone you know will want to know details about which colleges to apply for. What do you do at such times ? Ask friends? family ? elders ? Most of them have finished their education decades ago, if not sooner. And then, there is this huge generation gap. There is very little chance of any elder knowing about the current college scenario. Suppose you manage to find a friend or cousin who is just a few years elder. What are the odds that this person has the same mind set as u ? What if you do not find anyone at all who knows any information about the stream you want to pursue ? Sounds like a nightmare in the making.
This same thoughts must have crossed others mind also. As you will admit this is a major transitional problem while everyone at some point of time leaving school to jump into college. This is why a few people decided to solve this gigantic void by creating Collegedunia. It is said that if there is a problem existing, there are at least 10 different people who have thought about a solution for it and each of their ideas are in a different states of execution. CollegeDunia is one such solution that has been brilliantly implemented. Being a college student myself, the first idea when I found out about this site was - why couldn't these people have made this a few years earlier ?!
When you open the website, the first thing that stands out is the beautiful design of the page. The entire website has been laid out rather amazingly with a very serene UI. There have been earlier attempts at making a college search website, but none caught your eye like this one. Just looking at the website displays the fact that these people aren't another money making racket but they really are serious about the task they aim to fulfill. All institutes in the country are categorized right at the top. At the center, is a search bar in case you have heard about the college already and just want to check that one institute out in particular.
If you decide to select a category, the list of colleges comes up sorted as per ranking, with the best college first. This solved your query of the best college you can find. On the left hand side, you have filters so you can fine tune your search as per location & specific course.
Once you select a particular college, you get a page dedicated for the college with every little information about it. In one particular case, I was reading about a very popular management college in Mumbai. I found more information about it on Collegedunia than I did on the college's website ! They give you a full description, right from the courses offered to festivities to placement records to scholarships provided. Finding this much detailed and fine grained information in such a collated manner and in one location is as rare as a blue moon - never seen before.
