The two bit company from Gurgaon is going places, or so it seems. Till yesterday Micromax was importing Chinese handsets assembling them under Micromax brandname and selling them at a very competitive price. This made Micromax the second largest seller of Android smart phones in India just falling behind the numero uno Samsung. After dabbling in HDTV and Tablets in search of that effusive expansion to higher orbit, Micromax today sprung a surprise at the Consumer Electronics 2014 being held in Las Vegas, United States.
Micromax has announced a LapTab or a semi laptop which will run on dual-boot system. You can use Windows 8.1 or Android Jelly Bean operating system to boot this device depending your personal choice.
This LapTab is targeted at the people who want both a laptop and a tablet and are in a hunt for the in-between device to suffice their requirements. The LapTab will have a 10.1-inch 1,280 x 800 display and run on a handsome 1.46GHz processor. It will be powered by a 2GB RAM and have 32GB internal space. For photography and video chat the LapTab will have a 2MP camera both on front as well as rear. It will also come with a wireless keyboard and other accessories you did want.
Micromax has stated that this LapTab which it has yet not branded or christened will go on sale in India in the month of February or March 2014. The company has not divulged the price but do bear in mind that this one will be pretty costly because of the licensed copy of Windows 8.1 aboard it.
