One of the things you hated with Twitter was that you had read your Twitter direct message on your PC and yet when you opened the Twitter App on Android, the message again popped up as unread. This was because the Twitter for Android before this update was not capable of multi platform syncing. The Twitter engineers have got the act together and issued a update which now enables multi platform sync possible. So no more unread popups.
Among other things the update also received search related features like ability to see user avatars while searching and a easier past search option from the drop down menu.
