Soon you will be able to play motion controlled games on any consoles or even you PC.  The Mad Genius controllers are being tested with the  game  "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim"  This game has not been customised for motion control gaming hence the company has chosen it to showcase the controller.

Check out the video giving the demonstration of the controller :

The Mad Genius controllers wont use the conventional method of motion sensors like the GPS, Accelerometer, Gyroscope etc. instead it will have its own mapping in the 3D space.  For example thrusting your right hand forward when the controller is split in two will make your character attack with what is in their right hand. Similarly, if a shield is equipped, raising the left-handed side of the controller will make the in-game character raise their shield.

According to the developers, the Mad Genius controllers can be added to any game, even if the game wasn't written for motion controller. It works with any gaming system, including the Xbox, the Xbox 360, the PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii or even PC.

If you watch the video carefully you will notice there is time lag however the Mad Genius Controllers claims that the lag seen in the video is not the controller's fault in any way. It seems to be the way that Skyrim was programmed as hitting a attack button would supposedly create the same amount of delay.

It will be a great thing if you can have a motion sensor which is independent of the console and can be used anywhere.  As of now Mad Genius controllers are being tested with Skyrim, any further developments in this space will be watched by the manufacturers and gamers alike.
