Today's life is hectic and everybody needs some peace and tranquillity. After a long day's work every human like you and me likes a good rest for both body and soul. Some publishers have taken this very seriously and have released sleep aid Apps for iPhones, iPads and iPods. I personally believe that peace and serenity comes from within but many may have a different opinion. When I am restless, I often listen to the radio. Some of you may have different ideas like reading a book or something before going to sleep. Whatever it may be I hope it gives you a good night's rest. I am listing the Apps which have been released for the solid purpose of giving you mental peace and quite and a good night's sleep.
The first one is best of the lot and may give you some sleep. This is because the concept is very good. It is called the Sleep Lantern. It costs around $1.99 (Rs.110.00) and is real value for money.
It works on the simple principle of combining serene light with audio cues with your breathing. You only have to place your phone on the night stand and start the App and let it take over. It has a auto switch off mode so don't bother switching it off. There is a setting for opting different colours as per your mood.
It is available here and is available for both iPhone and iPad. It has also support for Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish in addition to English.
The second of the sleep aid Apps is Sleeping Zone. This is cheaper at $0.99(Rs.55.00) and is similar to Sleep Lantern except for the fact that you can't change the colour of the light.
However it has more audio cue like crickets, pond, life, waves, rain, lava flow and windshield wipers and you can keep the sounds on even after the visual effects are over.
You can download it here and it is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. As of now it is only available in English.
The next of the lot is iSleep Easy. It is the costliest of the lot at $4.99(Rs.275.00). This is because it is a meditation cum sleeping aid App. It first makes you undertake breathing excercises through meditation and than makes you sleep. It has 9 guided meditation methods plus music, which you can select as per your choice.
After the exercises you can choose background audio, such as calming music and nature sounds, to help you get to sleep.
Download this App here. This App is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and is available only in English.
Select any of the above App but have a nice sleep. The basic requirement for that is having peace within you, switching your phone to AIRPLANE mode and letting the App take over. GOODNIGHT!
