Save your old tweets

Save your old tweets
Twitter is offering its 200 million a chance to save a digital scrapbook of all their tweets.  This was disclosed by Twitter.
The tool which was disclosed last week and reported by me earlier will however be rolled out very very slowly.  In fact Twitter disclosed that it may take weeks, even months before all users will be able to avail this tool.
However users who are sentimental about their tweets can now download and keep an archive of their tweets.  Twitter announced that after a user makes a request for his or her past records he/she will receive an email on how to download their personal archives, the records which can be downloaded date back to 2006 when Twitter started.
This Instant Messaging fight is getting more and more interesting with Facebook's impending entry int he IM space.  Meanwhile a few developers have got together to launch a portal contain the last tweets of famous and notable people who died.  Read about it in this article.
